Brent co-founded lastminute.com, an online travel and leisure retailer, and made.com, a direct-from-factory homewares retailer.

Brent is Chairman and Co-Founder of Founders Factory, a corporate backed incubator/accelerator based in London. He co-founded and chairs Founders Forum, a series of intimate annual global events for the leading entrepreneurs of today and the rising stars of tomorrow. Founders Forum also has an innovation consultancy for top corporates (Founders Intelligence), a recruitment company (Founders Keepers), as well as a network to champion and support women working in technology (AccelerateHER). He also co-founded and chairs Founders of the Future, an invite only network of future founders.

In 2017, Brent launched firstminute capital, a new $85m international venture capital fund with broad specification for the varieties of technology it will invest in, including robotics, health and cyber security.

In addition, Brent sits on the UK Government Digital Advisory Board and The Economist Board and is an Advisory Board member to the Oxford Foundry.

Brent is a governor of the University of the Arts London, appointed as the Prime Minister's Business Trade Ambassador and was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to entrepreneurship. Brent graduated from the Eton College and the New College, Oxford.
