On 16th December 2020, LetterOne Health and Destination Pet hosted ‘The Pet Factor’, a webinar to explore the value of pets in a pandemic world
As we find ourselves spending much more of our time with our pets in 2020, the panel discussed how pets can create social, economic and emotional value in a world gripped by a global pandemic. The event also featured a presentation by Neogen showcasing Igenity Canine Wellness - the latest innovation in dog DNA screening.
The webinar followed the official launch of the latest journal in the Global Perspectives series in September – also named ‘The Pet Factor – which examines the economic and health benefits associated with pet ownership.
Moderated by Dr Adam Christman, Chief Veterinary Officer, MJH Life Sciences, the panel of experts was made up from across academia, veterinary science and the pet industry:
- Professor Lori Kogan, Professor of Clinical Sciences for the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Colorado State University
- Dr Carri Westgarth, Senior Lecturer in Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Liverpool Department of Livestock and One Health, Institute of Infection, Veterinary and Ecological Sciences
- Dr Joe Kinnarney, Chair, The American Veterinary Medical Association Trust
- Shane Kelly, Global CEO, Destination Pet
