Juan Manuel Delgado appointed President, L1 Energy (Mexico and South America)

L1 Energy is delighted to announce that Juan Manuel Delgado has been appointed as President, L1 Energy (Mexico and South America). He will be responsible for L1 Energy’s business development and future operations in Mexico and the broader region.

L1 Energy is the oil and gas investment unit of the LetterOne Group, an international investment firm with $25 billion under management, based in Luxembourg. 

Before joining L1 Energy, Juan Manuel served as Chairman & Executive Director, Schlumberger (Mexico and Central America). 

Commenting on Juan Manuel Delgado’s appointment, Lord Browne, Executive Chairman of L1 Energy said:

Biography 

Juan Manuel Delgado is a Petroleum Engineer from the UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). He studied management and finance from different institutions, including Harvard School of business, and completed the EMBA from the IMD Institute in Switzerland. 

He started his career in the public sector in Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) Villahermosa, Mexico, and Federal Commission of Electricity (CFE) in the Geothermal activities in Baja California Mexico. 

Since 1984 he has worked for Schlumberger in several assignments such as the Middle East, Cuenca de San Jorge, Argentina, Houston, North Africa and Mexico where he was appointed in 2005 as the managing director of Schlumberger. 

In 2013 he was appointed as Chairman of Schlumberger Mexico and Central America.

He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and of the Colegio de Ingenieros Petroleros de Mexico. He was a board member during the creation of the American International School in Oman and is an active board member of Compania Mexicana de Exploraciones (COMESA).

He speaks Spanish, English and French and has co-author several publications in industry magazines.
